South African Rapper, AKA Dies.

AKA dies from gunshot wounds…

A popular South African rapper popularly known as AKA was shot and killed at a popular club “Durban’s” on Florida Road, South Africa. AKA whose real name is Kiernan Jarryd Forbes and another man (Identity unknown) were shot on Friday 10th February 2023.

A witness who wishes to remain anonymous said AKA was shot while he was standing on the pavement of the night club around 10.00 pm that night.

A police spokesperson representing KwaZulu-Natal police, Robert Netshiunda confirm to the press that the popular rapper was shot down on Florida Road on Friday night at around 10 pm.

“I can confirm that two men were killed and one of them is a well-known rapper. Police will not be releasing any names of the victims yet until a full investigation is completed” Netshiunda said.

After the shooting, the area was closed down by policemen. Garrith Jamieson stated that two men died in the incident. He said that they died as a result of gunshot wounds after serious efforts had been made to revive them failed.

The statement read as follows:-

“It is with extreme sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our beloved son, and confirm his untimely and tragic passing on the evening of 10 February 2023. We are awaiting further details from the Durban Police.”

“To us, Kieran Jarryd Forbes was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, and most importantly father to his beloved daughter Kaito. To many, he was AKA, SUPERMEGA, BHOVA, and the many other names of affection his legion of fans called him by.”

“Our son was loved and he gave love in return. In this time of grief, we appeal for your compassion, space, and time to congregate as a family to decide on the upcoming days.”

We thank you for the love and support we have received thus far and ask you to continue to keep us in your prayers and uplifted in the Lord.”

His death sparks memories of his fiancee Anele Tembe’s death, two years earlier, she was reported to have died on 11th April 2021 after she fell from the 10th floor of a hotel in Cape Town.

AKA (Kiernan Jarryd Forbes) was born on 28th January 2023, he was raised in Cape Town. At the time of his death, AKA was 35 years old. May his soul rest in peace.
