Isabella Khairiah Hadid was born on 9 October 1996, at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington D.C. Mohamed Hadid, her father is a Palestinian Jordanian real estate developer, and Yolanda Hadid, her mother is a Dutch former model.

She has an older sister and a younger brother who are both models, Gigi and Anwar. She also has two older paternal half-sisters; Marielle and Alana. Santa Barbara in California was where Hadid and her siblings were raised.
