Daniel Nwosu Jr., known by his stage name Dax, was birthed on the 22nd of March, 1994 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. His parents were Nigerian immigrants who were of Igbo descent. He spent much of his childhood in Ottawa and relocated to Wichita to enroll in a university.

The rapper later relocated to Los Angeles, California to attend Newman University. While at Newman, he was part of the Newman Jets Basketball team and played guard. Using his SoundCloud account to release and promote his music, Dax officially began his career in 2017, after releasing the mixtape 2Pac Reincarnation Vol 2: As Told By Dax. He shot to stardom after dropping the official music video of his single Cash Me Outside featuring Danielle Bregoli.

His first EP It’s Different Now was released in August 2018. In 2019, Dax collaborated with Hopsin on the latter’s song You Should’ve Known. Later that year, in June, he was part of the It Goes Up tour along with Tech N9ne. Dax then scheduled his debut tour which he named It’s Different Now, for October that year, to take place in America and Canada.

I’ll Say It For You was the rapper’s second EP released in 2020. The music video for the album’s lead single Dear God gained more than 50 million YouTube views and over 50 million streams on Spotify. Dax released three more singles that year including Faster featuring Tech N9ne, I Don’t Want Another Sorry featuring Trippie Redd, and Coronavirus (State of Emergency).

Dax also released Child of God in July 2021, a sequel to Dear God. A month later, he dropped his first studio album and its lead single Propaganda featuring Tom Macdonald. 40 Days and 40 Nights featuring Nasty C, the album’s third single was dropped in October 2021. That same month, Pain Paints Painting, his studio album, was dropped digitally via Living Legends Entertainment on October 15.

Dear Alcohol was released in March 2022. It peaked at number 10 on Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart. The remix of Dear Alcohol featuring Elle King was dropped on June 10, 2022.
