Initial Stage In Career

Bolkiah secured a one-year contract with the Southampton F.C. Academy in 2009 while still playing for A.F.C. Newbury. He continued to work for Southampton at a minimum through December 2011.

Bolkiah trained with Reading and participated in a trial with Arsenal before signing a two-year youth agreement with Chelsea of the Premier League in 2014. Bolkiah contested in the 2013 Lion City Cup versus Corinthians, Eintracht Frankfurt, PSV Eindhoven, and a Singapore junior team when he was still playing for Arsenal.

He contributed to the Singaporean team’s 2-1 triumph by netting a strike. He left the team in December 2015 because his deal with Chelsea was slated to terminate in the summer of 2016. Following a test with Stoke City, he reportedly agreed to a three-year long-term contract with Leicester City in March 2016.

In the summer of 2019, he also extended his contract by one year.

Marítimo

On September 23, 2020, Bolkiah agreed to join Maritimo of Portugal’s Primeira Liga on a permanent deal. Three months later, after being selected for the matchday squad, he made his under-23 team debut in a 3-3 home tie with Sporting CP U23.

In a league cup game against Sporting CP 45 days later, he was used as a Maritimo substitute for the first time. He entered the game as a replacement during Maritimo B’s 2-1 victory over Gondomar on April 11, 2021, to make his professional debut.

He netted during Timor Leste’s 1-2 loss against his team in that competition. In a 2016 AFF Championship qualification game against Timor-Leste, he was scheduled to make his senior international debut on October 15.

In his first game, which ended in a 2-1 victory, he started and played the entire 90 minutes.
