Childhood

On 1 May 2000, Divine Ikubor was born in Benin City, Nigeria. Growing up he had a strong interest and ardor for music he started singing and rapping while in secondary school. For his education, he schooled at the Ighile Group of Schools in Edo State, Nigeria.

With Jonzing World, Rema has released three albums and on 25 March 2022, he dropped another album titled Rave & Roses. Rave & Roses is made up of 16 tracks and features legendary artists such as Chris Brown, 61ack, Yseult, and AJ Tracey.

Rave & Roses gained positive reviews and reception, it was rated number 10 on the US Billboard 200. Subsequently, he released his single titled ” Calm Down”, this song was a masterstroke and it won the hearts of many. The song Calm Down has won Rema lots of recognition nationally and universally. Rema eventually made a remix of this song (Calm Down) on 26 August 2022 with the legendary American singer Selena Gomez.

Rema received the Next Rated Award on 19 October 2019, he was later nominated for Viewers Choice. Rema on 12 January 2020 became an awardee of the Soundcity MVP Awards for Best New Artist. Rema alongside Wizkid and Burna Boy were the only Nigerian artists who were nominated for the Best Viewers Choice: International Act BET Awards in 2020.

After the demise of his father Justice Ikubor on 28 September, 2020 Rema vehemently accused the Peoples Democratic Party through his Twitter handle. Justice Ikubor was a former chieftain of the PDP.
