Adele Emily Sandé was born on 10 March 1987 she is known professionally by the name; Emeli Sandé. She is a Scottish singer and songwriter who was born in Sunderland to an English mother, Diane Sandé-Wood, and a Zambian father,  Joel Sandé, she was raised in Alford Aberdeenshire.

At the age of 11, Emeli wrote her first song for her primary school talent show. Emeli Sandé has confirmed several times that she always wanted to be a musician. The first song that Emeli Sande ever wrote was called Tomorrow Starts Again”. 2008-2010

Emeli Sandé’s sister made a video of her playing the piano and singing “Nasty Little Lady” which happens to be her favorite song. This clip was sent to Trevor Nelson’s BBC Urban Music Competition, she was offered a record deal, but her management declined the deal.

She later became involved with Urban Scot, it was through Urban Scot that her career evolved and improved because her career was promoted in Scotland. Emeli Sande’s parents sent a CD of her songs to BBC Radio 1Xtra, and Ras Kwame played her songs on “Homegrown Sessions”
